US lags behind world in broadband speeds

US lags behind world in broadband speeds: "

world-wired-broadband-speeds

According to Net Index, a new website operated by Seattle-based Ookla (the people behind Speedtest.net), the United States is falling behind the rest of the world when it comes to wired broadband speeds. Based on user test info generated over the past 30 days, Net Index ranked the US 26th in the world for downlink speeds with an average downlink speed of 10.16Mbps. Such speeds might not seem all that bad at first glance, but considering that the global average is 7.67Mbps, it’s clear that US ISPs have a lot of ground to make up. South Korea finished first with an average of 34.14Mbps, followed by Latvia, the Republic of Moldova, and Japan at 24.29, 21.37 and 20.39Mbps respectively.

Moving to uplink speeds, South Korea once again led the pack with an average of 18.04Mbps while the US’s 2.21Mbps was barely above the world average of 2.10Mbps. In an attempt to keep things as even as possible, Net Index only counted results from nations in which tests were taken from at least 75,000 unique IP addresses. And though the results are by no means scientific, they will no doubt provide a lot of talking points for those currently engaged in the ongoing battle between advocates of net neutrality and ISPs whose interests are best served by imposing caps on data speeds and usage Results from colleges and businesses were excluded from the results.

Real Madrid VS DC United

Real Madrid played DC United Sunday August 9th. The experience was incredible! First Half was ok but Madrid exploded in the second half after Robben and Raul entered for Ronaldo and i think Sneider. I wont go into detail about the game now but ill leave you with the following pics taken by myself to enjoy!

HALA MADRID!!!

Madrid Stars Sign For Fans In DC

Fans including myself were treated with the pleasure of seeing Madrid players up close after an event in the W Hotel in Washington DC. Some fans got their jerseys and other memorabilia signed from the players. I was one of the few lucky ones who got a jersey signed from Captain Raul. I was not able to get Kaka nor Ronaldo but Raul is more important to me personally. Check out the video of the entire thing:

Are The Dutch on Their Way Out!

van-nistelrooy

Reports have surfaced suggesting that Valdano has intructed the Dutch players to move on if they get offers from other clubs. This includes Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Royston Drenthe, Wesley Sneijder, Rafael Van Der Vaart, Arjen Robben and Ruud Van Nistelrooy! No one is being spared not even those who have showed their loyalty such as Ruud or players of great potential and skills such as Robben & Huntelaar!

In all fairness, they all had their chance to shine last season and with the exception of Robben and Huntelaar, the rest failed. Some failed due to injury, such as Ruud, and some failed without any kind of explanation, such as Van Der Vart and Sneider!!

In my opinion, i believe that it is not smart to get rid of them all. For instance, i would definitely get rid of Drenthe, van Der Vaart and give the choice to stay benched to the rest. We can not ignore what robben is capable of or what Ruud has done for us in the past! To me Ruud has the same value as Raul!!

So here is the solution! Let Robben, Ruud, Sneider and Huntelaar stay as replacements and lets see how things develop from now to he winter transfer market.

In any circumstance, i think that it will be difficult for us to offload all these player prior to the end of the summer transfer season primarily due to the fact that the economic situation is forcing teams to be more careful about signings and limit their spending!! Of course that isn’t the case with Real Madrid!!

Benzema Becomes a Madrid Hitman!

karim-benzema-marque-un-but

According to Goal.com, Karim Benzema has completed a move from Olympique Lyon to Real Madrid FC for 35 Million Euros. They state that the player told his club that he wanted a move to Los Blancos and they agreed!

What a great transfer for Madrid! Some might we should of paid that money for Villa, but Benzema is younger and is full of potential. I’ll be honest, i dont think he was worth that much money, but sometimes in order to get the best talent you have to pay a little extra. I hope he lives to his potential.

WELCOME TO MADRID BENZEMA!!!!

HALA MADRID!!!

Arbeloa Maicon & Albiol

albiol_170907_ES

It’s about time that we hear some promising news regarding the future of the backline at Madrid. It seems that Perez is really following a plan. He started with the forwards, wingers, and now defenders. In terms of midfield, i believe that we have good players already and any addition is not crucial but would be nice. Alonso is still being persude by Madrid, so that would be a relief in terms of midfield if we do land him.

Now to the potentially exciting news. Marca reported that Madrid are close to closing a deal on Albiol from Valencia. This signing, if it happens, would close the gap that is in the current squad due to Cannavaro’s departure. Albiol is a great defender and he would fit perfectly in the new Madrid line up. Albiol would make for a great partner for Pepe, if he is back!! Keep your fingers crossed Madristas! This in my opinion is a very important signing if it is completed.

Arebola seems to be destined to move from Liverpool especially after the fact that Liverpool just signed Glen Johnson. I think he is also a good target. He was once a Madrid product, but no need to go into that right now.

Maicon is also a target of Madrid, but i am not very optimistic due to Inter Milans asking price. He would be a great addition. Madrid might be tempted to trade some players, possibly of Holland decent in order to land him. If anyone should pay the price of Maicon it should be Van Der Vart and no one else. I am afraid that Madrid might go insane and actually trade Sneider or Robben for the Brazilian! I pray to God that is not the case!!

I am very glad that Madrid has now moved to take a look at the backline. I’ve always said that the backline is really important and i am sure that Perez thinks so too, but we might differ on how which line is more important the backline or frontline! Nevertheless, it is great to see that Perez is following a plan in terms of signings and what encourages me more is the fact that Madrid is not clinging to players who are hard to get and wasting time!! Maybe Calderone could learn a thing or two by watching Perez at work!!
